Peter McCormack & Sons have recently acquired a brand-new state-of-the-art vacuum excavator and no better place to showcase its capabilities than deep in London’s West End theatre district.
Our utilities team were contracted by Kier to divert services to facilitate the extension of the basement and development of Shaftesbury Theatre. Space in this area is a luxury and London’s sub-surface is notoriously congested with existing utilities, infrastructure and potential archaeology inter alia.
Excavating in such a complex urban environment must be undertaken with meticulous planning and executed with extreme care. This is where vacuum excavation comes into it's own and on this occasion, it not only assisted our site team with a successful safe-dig technique but also added peace of mind to client and customer alike.
