Another successful directional drill completed for our client Clancy Docwra on behalf of UKPN for the new Barking Riverside Phase 2 Diversion.
Balfour Beatty CLG, working on behalf of Gas Networks Ireland (GNI) commissioned Peter McCormack and Sons to undertake the installation of a new 450mm steel carrier pipe crossing of the M50 motorway by means of horizontal directional drilling (HDD).
In summer/autumn 2018 McCormack Drilling installed 630 metres of 355mm (14inch) OD gas main under the River Foyle 5.4km north-east of Derry city centre, N. Ireland by means of Horizontal Directional Drilling (HDD). Geology consisted of weathered schist and at the deepest point, the pipe was installed 50 metres under the water level of the river and 80 metres from entry point.
